Accursed.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: Hey! Well, straight to the point, I’m attempting to write Haiku even after I failed my last two attempts at trying to write that esoteric type of poetry. Just let me know if I passed this time in the comments and I’ll change the title of the poem πŸ˜›

Need to, want to drown,

Alas! An untimely curse-

Knowing how to swim.

    Hey Kimaya!
Do you know what your name means?
I don’t know what Haiku means,
It is a beautiful stand-alone poem and image.
    Happy Weekend,

it’s hard to say what qualifies as a haiku any more as modern haiku look nothing like traditional Japanese haiku… if you are trying to keep with the seventeen syllable, three line (5,7,5) then your middle line has too many syllables, and should only have 7, not 9…this is just an observation…i love your poem πŸ™‚

You are welcome, and I forgot to mention that this is perhaps more aptly called a senryu (like the haiku) because haiku is usually strict in its content (nature only with no human element)…:)…saw the edit, and i am not nit-licking but your second line still has 8 syllables so if you ise it’s instead of it is, the count will work πŸ˜€

This indeed is a deep Haiku. Yes you passed at it. I wrote my first Haiku this Feb which was:

    “The Earrings

    Her Golden, bell shaped,
Finely inscribed, earrings waved; Immense attention craved.”

Intrigued by your blog. Looking forward to read more πŸ™‚
